So Vain

Everyone has done it. You've typed in your name in Google to see what pops up about you. It's called a vanity search. Nothing is wrong with it. Without doing it myself, I wouldn't have known that there is a composer named Martin Hennessy. There is a different twist on it that I'd like you to try. Just for kicks, I'd like you to go to Google and type in your first name with the word 'is' behind it enclosed in quotation marks.

As an example, the first listing in my search for "Martin is" came up in the summary as: Howard said Martin is preparing a response to the accusations.

I didn't even know that I was in that much trouble. What did yours say?

I've tried it, and the only thing that pops up is an actor that I've never heard of. Thankfully, I'm not listed anywhere.

Last week at work we were doing something similar.
Type in "Martin was arrested for" as an alternative game. Looks like your in a whole lot more trouble than you thought you were. ;)

I am...Peppermint Patty's best friend (well, duh), completing a book, checking my email, furious, allergic to peanuts (ironically enough), a statistician for a boys basketball team, and I'm being treated by the Texas A&M Veterinary School.

And that was just on the first page of the search. I can't wait to see what else I'm doin..lol.

Here was the first thing that came up under "Becky is..."

Every Little Thing Becky Does Is Magic! (GTKY W/O - circle jerk edition)

Well, I knew that. I don't know about this circle jerk business though. It's some weird article on Epinions. I didn't read the whole thing.

Here is the link summary for the first hit: "LORA Welcomes Active Duty, Retired Military, Members of the National Guard and ... LORA is a great place to get away from all the worries of every day life...."

Wooohooo, I'm just a party all around! I had no idea I was such a good time!

Whoa. This is pretty funny Martin, and something I would have never thought of!

OK, so, besides being the dead mother of the Tony Soprano (which I already knew) it appears that I'm also a non profit organization, AND a damn fine espresso maker.

It's amazing how much the web knows about me!
